  Hi-Plan 2 Level 5 Experiments

Description

The set of experiments use strain gauged cantilevers mounted in a stiffened Frame. The necessary variables in each experiment have been incorporated in the design of the apparatus and are supplied. The frequency, amplitude and phase of the vibrations is registered on a digital storage oscilloscope (not supplied with the experiments) via an interface unit which also provides the electronic inputs for the different tests. The main objective of the set of experiments is to show the effects of wind, machinery and shock (earthquake type) loading on simple structures with one degree of freedom.

The Structural Dynamics Kit contains all the items (except the Universal Stand and Frame and Digital Analogue Oscilloscope) required to perform the four experiments in this series.

An Universal Frame and Stand and a Digital Analogue Oscilloscope is required. The essential requirements are a two channel unit with a triggered ROLL time base as the frequencies to be examined are of the order of a few Hz.
